Happy Happy Easter!

The 24th of April 2011, Easter Sunday, was the day of our tinghun. I'm not sure what it means exactly. I think it's a cross between a Chinese wedding and a formal engagement ceremony. There were jewelries and watches exchanged, which I believed symbolized the acceptance of the couple into each other's families.

The ceremony took place at home, with the people I love most. A cousin & niece tandem sailed all the way from Cagayan de Oro, an aunt sailed from Leyte, and another cousin came all the way from Bohol. Other relatives from Cebu also went to help and witness the event.

It was an event that had to be orchestrated. As everyone in the immediate family was part of the event, things had to be prepared by others. It was a Holy Week, and these people freed up their schedules to help, support and take part in the ceremony. I felt loved and very much proud of the people all around me. I know I can always count on them whenever I need them. I am indeed blessed to be part of a wonderful family.
